A Brussels family home that feels like a permanent southern holiday
A family home in the city borrows the ease of the Mediterranean, all warm plaster, deep shade and rooms built for lingering.
The renovation strips a tall Brussels townhouse back to its bones, then rebuilds in a register that has nothing to do with the grey street outside. Walls are finished in a terracotta-warmed plaster that holds light like late afternoon.

Arched openings replace square doorways, softening sightlines and pulling the eye from room to room. The kitchen, usually the loudest space in a family house, is kept quiet here, with a single stone island and cabinetry that disappears into the wall.

Walls finished in terracotta-warmed plaster hold light like late afternoon.

Upstairs, bedrooms open onto a planted terrace that does the work of a courtyard, drawing air and greenery into the heart of the plan. The result reads less like a city home and more like a house on holiday that simply never leaves.
