Above the rooftops, a small refuge collects antiques, raw timber and shadow into a room that feels older than the building beneath it.

The apartment is the work of antiquarians as much as architects, and it shows in the layering. Each object has a history, and the room is composed to let those histories sit beside one another without competition.

Dark stained wood lines the walls, absorbing light and lending the space the hush of a private study. A single framed portrait, centuries old, anchors one wall and sets the tone for everything around it.

Each object has a history, and the room lets those histories sit side by side.

Comfort here is low and tactile: a daybed dressed in shearling, a stone hearth, textiles worn soft by use. Nothing announces itself, which is precisely the point.
